Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Oxfam.
Volunteer
The interview was clear and well organised, with a logical flow between questions. The questions were relevant to both my experiences and motivation, and the interviewer was friendly and approachable, which helped me feel comfortable and explain my experiences confidently and clearly.
- What was your motivation for choosing Oxfam?
Volunteer
The interview process was online, really fast, and efficient. I'm still waiting to hear back, but I'm sure they'll get in touch soon. You also need to fill out a form and give a reference.
- What motivates you to volunteer with Oxfam?
Volunteer
The process was quick and easy, pretty informal and the manager was lovely. Since it's a volunteering role, the interview was mostly about availability. You have to fill out a form before the interview, which is where the questioning mostly happens, asking why you wanted to volunteer. The interview itself was mainly a confirmation. In some cases, they do have informal practical interviews if many people are applying at the same time, mostly students. Just do your best!
- Why did you want to volunteer?
- Do you have any health conditions?
