Since it was for a volunteer position, I had to complete forms about my age and date of birth, and provide two good references. After that, there was a pretty relaxed chat about my past work experience where they also asked about my availability.

It was like a chat with a friend, really friendly and informal. The deputy manager gave a quick intro to the shop floor, and then we went to an office for a 15-minute interview.

Behavioral Case

It was a really tough interview. The questions were way too hard for a sales assistant role, more like for management. They focused on profit increase rather than my experience. It was a panel interview over Microsoft Teams. It turned out the role was more for an assistant store manager, not a retail assistant, and the pay wasn't worth it.

  • What strategies would you employ to boost store profits?
  • What changes would you implement in the store's operations?
  • How would you attract more volunteers?
