The interview process involved a single 30-minute meeting with two managers, followed by another 30-minute meeting with two newer accountants. Most of the questions were about personality, but there were a couple about previous knowledge of the firm and interest in the energy industry.

Behavioral Technical Coding

Applied through my college career center and got contacted for an interview pretty quickly. It was in-person with two engineers where we talked about my past work. They had a set of behavioral questions ready that were really tied to their company values. So for an Ovintiv behavioral interview, you should totally get ready with examples showing how you lived their core values. This role was for petroleum engineering students, focusing on data analytics and coding. I was asked a couple of super simple behavioral questions about how I solve coding problems, but nothing intensely technical. The whole interview thing went great. Their people are awesome to chat with, and the job sounded cool and challenging. I got an offer about a week after. But honestly, I was hoping for a different kind of role, so I had to pass on it. No complaints about their interview process though.

Technical Behavioral

I sent in my application online. After a quick initial chat, they invited me to EnCana's Denver office for a face-to-face interview. I met with a few different managers there. They were all pretty nice. I felt like I answered their questions as well as I could, trying to be professional and smart about it. One of the people I spoke with looked me right in the eye and said she'd be in touch about their decision. Another manager mentioned I should expect to hear back by the end of that week. I left feeling good about it. Then, crickets. Nobody from EnCana even bothered to tell me they weren't moving forward. I was just left hanging, not knowing. They promised communication, but it was a total letdown. Seems really unprofessional to me.
