First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Outsource.
Security Installation Technician
They are looking for people with technical skills like troubleshooting, installations, networking knowledge, electrical/low-voltage experience, and certs like CompTIA, OSHA, or manufacturer training. First, there's a quick recruiter call to confirm your availability, certifications/licenses, work authorization, and if you're okay with travel or being on-call.
- Tell me about your experience working on a specific system.
Virtual Assistant
The hiring process was quick. A client interview was scheduled very soon after. The interview was at 2 AM to accommodate the client's time zone, which was fine. The client was relaxed and friendly. However, the recruiter never gave any feedback on the outcome, even after I followed up several times.
- Can you do a role play scenario?
Recruiter
This was a really weird interview process. After the first interview, they sent me an article about a woman who went from working at Hooters to becoming the CEO of Cinnabon. It made me wonder if I'd be a good fit for the company culture. Then, they messed up the link for my second interview and had to reschedule it for an hour later, which made me even more anxious. The person who conducted the second interview didn't ask me many questions and seemed unimpressed with my previous work experience, especially since I worked there for many years while I was getting my degree. What was odd was that she had no clue about the article the first recruiter had sent me, so she didn't even know what I was talking about when I brought it up. If you're not going to give someone a chance because you look down on their retail job, why interview them at all? They also stopped responding pretty quickly after my interview. The pay is also way below average for this role at other companies, so know your worth and look elsewhere.
- What's the reason you've stayed at your current job for so long?
Low Voltage Technician
It's the normal interview process, except they gave me a drug test on the spot. You can't reach anyone at the Orlando office. They don't answer emails or return calls or text messages. After finally reaching someone, they devalue your experience and lowball on wages.
- Do you have reliable transportation?
