Group Technical Presentation

This was the worst hiring process ever. It started with a group interview. If they liked you, you then interviewed with the VP of Sales, who mentioned he only stays at companies for about 3 years. His interview was supposed to be tough, but he seemed to constantly check the time and didn't really ask proper interview questions. If you didn't pass that, you got a second chance with a 'walk on training' session to see if you could handle the job. They give you a script to memorize overnight, and the trainer wants you to either perfectly memorize it or just wing it, but still stick to the script. The evaluation includes how many 'ariel flips' you can do during the test. You're paired with another employee (mine hadn't closed a sale in 3 weeks, which apparently is fine) and you have to act like you're confused when calling an owner. They then write a review based on your performance. They said they'd contact you within 24 hours, but it took 3 days to hear back about the job offer. So, giving your current employer a 2-week notice isn't really feasible.

I was recruited on LinkedIn to tour the office, listen to calls, and see what the job was about. I had brief chats with recruiters and managers. They said if they saw potential, I'd get called back for a formal interview. As I left, I was told I'd be the first one they'd call. The next day, an internal recruiter called to set up a formal interview. I prepared a lot and felt good going in. I was supposed to meet with the recruiter briefly, then the SVP of Sales. Things were going well until they asked my age. I was 19, and apparently, that's a big no-no. I answered truthfully, and the recruiter immediately sent me home without letting me meet the SVP. It was a huge disappointment and looked bad for the company. It's happened a couple of years ago and I still think about it. I needed to share this.

Behavioral Case Presentation

I originally applied for the inside sales role. I talked to two sales managers, the sales director, and the product director. Each person I met with had a different approach, which made the process really interesting and kept me on my toes. Later, for the Customer Success position, I spoke with the department manager, the product director, and a customer success rep.
