There was a two person interview, and it was pretty laid back. The interviewers were the Nurse manager and a charge RN. We talked about my strengths and weaknesses, and they asked for examples of different situations. We also discussed shift availability and how scheduling usually works.

I applied and got a call from HR the next day for a quick phone chat. They were really helpful, telling me about the unit I wanted and even suggesting others. The day after, the nurse manager called to set up an interview for the next day. First, I met with her and answered some standard questions, then she told me more about the unit. After that, I met the staff for a peer interview. Later that same day, the recruiter called with a job offer. She also gave me details on paperwork and my health screening. The whole experience felt very professional, and everyone was friendly and easy to talk to.

I applied for the job online. About two weeks after applying, I received a phone call from an HR recruiter who was very pleasant. I was then taken to the department where I interviewed with the nurse manager. They highlighted all the great aspects of the job, such as patient acuity, the nurse to patient ratio, the workload, and the scheduling. However, it turns out those were just selling points, as my unit is actually understaffed every day according to the recommended guidelines.
