I was so excited for this interview, I really prepared and was dressed the part, and felt very positive and engaging. But, they just asked me a bunch of basic nursing questions and scenarios. They didn't ask anything about me at all. It felt like they wanted to hire robots, not people who are personable and passionate. I didn't feel welcome, and it didn't seem like they wanted to give me the time of day. They asked me to do a peer interview, but I declined.

Got signed into the interview process as people arrived. We waited in the main room with the other candidates until it was time. Then, I was called in to meet with the manager and the day supervisor for a short, relaxed interview that lasted about 10 minutes. After that, I had a peer interview where I sat with a panel of 4 nurses. They asked me behavioral questions and things about my resume. The nurses were really nice and even joked around about how different the units are.

I interviewed with the manager, supervisor, and other staff nurses. Each interview was about an hour. A big part of the interview was about getting to know me and my career goals, and also explaining the job and the worksite. The interview process can change depending on the unit. Some units focus more on critical thinking skills. Some nurses even get hired by just walking around the unit and chatting with other nurses.
