Technical Support Engineer
I initially spoke with recruiters at my university's career fair and then applied online. About six weeks after applying, I was contacted to schedule a 45-minute phone interview. The interviewer was friendly and mostly asked behavioral questions, inquiring about my research. The very next day, I was invited to schedule an onsite interview at their headquarters in CA. During the onsite visit, I completed four 45-minute interviews that included both technical and behavioral questions. While some interviewers were well-prepared, one manager mostly wanted me to ask him questions, making me wonder if he was testing my interest or just being disengaged. After nearly two weeks, I received a confusing request for another phone interview, despite having already flown out for an onsite. A few days after this final phone call, I was informed I did not get the job.
- They asked several technical questions, like "what is HTML?"
- They also asked how I would troubleshoot a problem with a Pi application.
- Specifically, they wanted to know where I would look to troubleshoot the Pi application issue (e.g., rebooting the computer, checking with another person's computer, examining if the Pi server hard drive is corrupt, etc.).
Technical Support Engineer
I got recruited at a career fair, then had an on-campus interview. After that, I was invited for an on-site interview. The campus interview was pretty chill, not too technical, mostly to see if I was a good fit. The on-site interview was tough, five hours long with five different people, an hour each. It had deep personal and technical questions, including coding and logic puzzles.
- Can you explain how to code a recursive function?
- Could you share the most exciting technological advancement you've encountered lately?
Technical Support Engineer
It was an on-campus interview initially. Mostly behavioral questions and one calculation question I saw in other reviews. The interviewer was nice and it was a relaxed interview. I got a call back soon for a follow-up interview. The second interview was on-site and they covered travel expenses. There, I met with 3-4 people from the company who asked more behavioral and technical questions. Make sure to review your programming skills and be prepared for unusual questions.
- What do you know about our company and why are you interested in working here?
