The wait was long but it’s worth it, very friendly and understanding people. They make you feel welcomed. Management was great and communicated well during the whole process. Definitely would recommend.

I was asked to migrate 320 SharePoint Sites and 170 Nintex Forms and Workflows to M365, with each Nintex Form being converted to Power Apps. The interviewers seemed to have very little knowledge about SharePoint or Nintex forms. They insisted on a timeline of migrating 14 SharePoint Sites and their accompanying Nintex forms every 2 weeks. When I inquired about testing time for Power Apps and Power Automate flows, I was told there was no time allocated and that they couldn't even check the results for sites already migrated due to permission issues. They mentioned that user SharePoint sites would be deleted 2 weeks post-migration, forcing acceptance. I also pointed out the differences between SharePoint Online and on-premise and the need for user training, but was told no training time would be provided and users should contact Oshkosh Corp for questions. Regarding migration tools, they stated there was no budget for tools like ShareGate and insisted on using the free SharePoint Migration Tool (SPMT). Neither interviewer showed their camera, and their lack of understanding and unprofessional approach to the technical process was evident. They intended to dictate the tools and timeline despite my expertise.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • They didn't ask about my experience, they just gave me an unrealistic timeline.
  • When I pushed back, they said I lacked a "Storm the Beaches" mentality.

I initially had a phone screen for a design engineer role. After not hearing back for a few weeks, I followed up. It was then decided I'd be a better fit for a senior engineer position. I was then called in for an in-person interview for this new senior engineer role. The email had two addresses, and I luckily picked the right one. The interview happened during lunch, with a panel of 5 people. Most seemed confused why I was referred for the senior role, and it was clear I wasn't a good fit within the first minute. The whole process took months from the phone screen to the in-person, and felt disorganized. I think the HR person on the phone screen could have done a better job matching candidates to roles. Because of this experience and the communication, I won't be applying to Oshkosh Defense again.

Had an initial chat, mostly asked about my schooling and work history with standard questions. Then I had an interview with the team, which I felt went well. They had a meeting about me a week later, but then I never heard back. I had to check my application status on the portal myself, no email, call, or text was sent. Not sure why my application was dropped.
