Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Oscar Recruit.
Recruitment Consultant
The first interview with Zach went well, but the second one with Kevin was terrible. They attempted to trick me during a role-play exercise, which involved asking a client about their ideal candidate and then pitching myself as that candidate, even though I had no prior experience with such a task. Kevin's feedback at the end was extremely rude and condescending. Honestly, even if an offer were extended, I wouldn't accept it because it was the worst interviewer experience I've ever had. It makes me wonder how he treats his employees. Other recruitment agencies show much more respect. I would seriously consider looking for opportunities elsewhere.
- Could you describe your relevant experience?
Senior Recruiter
The interview process was straightforward and well-explained. The commission structure was presented clearly, and the internal recruitment team was easy to reach and open. I definitely would have taken the job if it had been offered.
- Can you share your experience recruiting within the Construction or Energy sectors?
Recruitment Consultant
It was a general chat, nothing too formal. Pretty standard recruitment interview apart from the specific questions. I got the vibe they were looking for someone more senior based on the questions, even though they knew I was just starting out in recruitment. They rejected me because they thought I was too young and not ready to be a full 360 consultant. It was a rough experience and really affected my confidence back then, but I’ve gone on to have a successful career since, so don’t let one experience make you feel less capable!
- Melanie inquired about my age and whether I was still living with my parents.
