First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Oscar Health.
Associate
I talked to Oscar in Feb 2024 and the whole thing took about 3 weeks. The HR team was great and got back to me fast, and the recruiter was awesome to work with. I'd say there were like 5 interviews with different people on the team, and each one was a different kind of interview. I also did a case study and a panel presentation. It was tough but the team was really nice and everyone was easy to talk to. It was mostly conversational, behavioral, and case study style interviews.
- Can you tell me why you're interested in this department and role?
- What specifically about Oscar Health captures your interest?
- In what ways does your experience align with the requirements of this position?
Associate Director
I got an email to schedule a phone screen with the recruiter, and they said they'd call me at the time I picked. I was surprised when a Google Meet link was sent instead, but I joined. The recruiter was on Google Meet, which was weird because the email said they'd call. Once I joined, the recruiter seemed uninterested. They didn't explain the role and asked me general questions about my experience and why I wanted the job. When I asked about the hiring timeline, they said there wasn't one and they were looking for the right fit. I guess I wasn't it. The recruiter also went off on a tangent about not hiring nurses, even though I'm not one. I thought Oscar sounded like a good company, but this meeting made me feel undervalued. I won't apply again.
- How do you lead when things change?
Associate Director
This interview process was pretty long, but honestly, it was unlike any other interview I've had! The panel was on time and came with good questions. The recruiter, Mr. Reyes, was amazing – he really knows his stuff. He was super informed about the Utilization Review business, the company vibe, and the team's main goals. He was really nice and respectful, and honestly, he knew so much that I almost thought he was the manager. I'm really happy with how professional Mr. Reyes and the panelists were.
- Tell me about your experience working with others.
- How do you influence others?
- What are your thoughts on DE&I drivers?
