Sales Account Manager
I had a phone interview first, and the vibe was awesome. Then, because of COVID in 2020, the next step was a Zoom call. I got a job offer within a couple days after that. I'm super happy with how it turned out.
- Could you share how you managed being a student athlete during your college years?
Account Manager
So this place is definitely not what it seems, it's a pyramid scheme disguised as a marketing agency, selling DirectTV at Walmart. They don't explain the job well until the second interview. If you have a degree, don't bother. I noticed the manager's office had stained carpets, but I still didn't catch on. In the second interview, they showed me the timeline and how to 'move up,' which confirmed it's a pyramid scheme. I just went through the motions out of politeness, knowing it was a scam. Then they took me to a Walmart to show me how they sell DirectTV. Seriously, if you have a degree, save your time. They're probably also paying people to write good reviews.
- Would you be able to see yourself working here?
Account Manager
The first interview was a 10-minute phone call with the manager where they asked standard interview questions and provided company background. The second interview was a half-day event with a sales rep, including lunch (which you pay for), where you could observe the sales process at a retail location, specifically Walmart in Festus, MO, for this particular instance.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
