I spoke with some arrogant guys who spent half the interview talking down other companies, even though they don't know anything about medicine. They wouldn't tell me the salary or range. I passed the first round, which meant they wanted me to fly to California from Boston and back in under 24 hours. That's 20 hours of travel for a 1-hour interview. I decided it wasn't worth my time and didn't continue.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

This interview process was one of the hardest I've gone through, taking about a month from start to finish. It began with a 40-minute phone interview that was quite enjoyable. Then I had to write an essay about what Functional Medicine means to me, which I liked because it let me explore my passion for health and wellness. After that, I had my first panel interview with two people, which was a new experience for me and mostly involved them getting to know me and explaining the company to ensure I was really interested in the role. The next step was a second interview, a full panel with regional VPs and the VP of Sales. I had to read a short book about smiling and moving and complete a 2-hour sales aptitude test that was pretty tough, especially the problem-solving questions at the end. The full panel interview was also intense and a great experience, but I think I prepared by focusing too much on my passion for the field instead of my sales abilities. Given my sales background, I felt I should have gotten the job easily, especially since other candidates lacked sales experience. If I had a second chance, I know I'd do much better. It was a valuable learning experience overall.

Behavioral Technical Other

I had a phone screen with the HR director where we talked about general stuff and how the business works. Then, a phone interview with the Talent Acquisition Manager went really well. They called the next week and offered me an in-person interview at HQ in Woodstock, IL. I had to pay for my own travel and hotel, about $900. The HR director and Talent Acquisition Manager had said I was a perfect fit and even discussed neighborhoods for apartments, so I made the trip. The in-person interview seemed great, and they sent a link for a Caliper strengths/personality assessment to do over graduation weekend. They said I'd hear back in a few days about the final round at O'Hare. After a week of no word, I called the HR director on Friday. He didn't pick up but emailed 30 minutes later saying they decided to go with other candidates. After all that money and effort, they didn't even call. I asked for feedback but they had none. A company's hiring process shows how they run their business, and Ortho Molecular's recruiting team was unprofessional and misleading. I wouldn't recommend wasting time or money getting strung along.
