Behavioral Presentation

There were 3 interviews. The last one was in Chicago with 3 executives. These executives have been with the company for a long time. They are nice guys, but it's interesting how they recruit. They usually look for more polished people, and if they don't find that, they let them go quickly.

I had a really straightforward interview over FaceTime where we talked about the Account Executive role and what's needed to work at the company. They also gave me some aptitude tests to see if I fit the position. The application itself wasn't as long as I expected, and the questions weren't too tough.

Behavioral Technical

I recently interviewed for an Account Executive role at Ortho Molecular. My experience involved a 30-minute phone screen with the hiring manager, which quickly turned into a discussion about my pharmaceutical sales background, with the manager expressing doubts about my ability to perform in this new role. I initially thought he might be testing my resilience. This was followed by a nearly two-hour in-person interview with the hiring manager and the VP of Sales. The conversation was largely informal, but the topic of past pharma sales hires came up again. I attempted to address their concerns about my background, which I felt was more of a bias. I left the interview feeling confident I would get the job. However, two days later, I received a rejection email. Despite my long-standing interest in their products and my efforts to provide supporting documents and references from their customers, they decided not to proceed. The recruiter offered no specific feedback, and neither the hiring manager nor the VP of Sales responded to my polite requests for constructive criticism. Looking back, I see this as a positive redirection, given the apparent biases and arrogance I encountered.
