First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Orr Group.
Intern
It was pretty simple. I had 2 calls with the person who would be my manager. They asked about what I've done before and my skills. We also chatted about what the job needs, the timeline, and some projects. They were really nice and open about how everything worked!
- Can you describe your previous work experiences?
- Tell me about your college major.
Associate
It was a pretty standard interview process. The first step was a video call with some associates where they asked pretty basic questions. After that, I had an in-person interview where I met with several senior consultants. The questions were a bit tougher, but still what you'd expect. Overall, it was a good experience until after the interview. I was told HR would be in touch, but after a week of no response to my follow-up email, I called and left a message. Still no word back. It was disappointing to be left completely in the dark after coming in for an interview, especially when they could have just let me know if they weren't moving forward.
- Can you discuss your prior experience working with nonprofits?
Research Associate
I applied online and then got contacted by an associate for an interview. Since I was in NY and the job was in DC, the interview was over the phone. It was with 3 associates, as they mentioned in the email, and it was pretty standard, lasting about an hour. I'd suggest looking into the company and the associates beforehand and getting ready to talk about your resume.
- What's your approach to researching an executive or board member of a nonprofit organization?
Director
It started with a phone screening with the HR director. Then I had several in-person interviews with different groups of staff from all levels of the company.
- Tell me about how you accomplished xyz.
