Account Manager
I had three interviews with the branch manager, and then I did 2 sales simulations. For the simulations, I had to create a proposal based on the info given about a basement waterproofing product.
- What is your background in sales?
Commercial Account Manager
The hiring journey kicked off with an HR phone chat. Next up was a meeting with the Region Manager, followed by a final sit-down with the District Manager, who then made the job offer. Back then, there were clear paths for growth, though those opportunities aren't as present in the South Central Division now, unlike when the branch was under the southeastern division. The atmosphere was really welcoming, and I ended up with some great connections that I still have today. It's a team-oriented environment focused on taking care of the customer, with customer service being the top priority. They're definitely seeking folks who align with these core values.
- No specific questions were really asked; the interview was very direct.
Account Manager
So the job was in Chicago. I met the branch manager at Starbucks. Then they called me and said I got the job, and that's when you officially fill out the application. They do your background check, and after that, you go on a ride along, which is pretty cool. I met the district manager, who was a really bad guy. They told me I had the job, but the next day they hired someone else. It really stinks because I already put in my two weeks at my current job. This company has no class and they don't treat people right. They look you in the eye and lie to you. They didn't even seem sorry about it, and the gm knew I quit my job because he was the one who called and offered me the job. It's an old-school company! You can't have a beard, but it seems like there's a good chance to make money if you're good at building a pipeline.
- How do you handle objections?
- What's your planning ability like?
