First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Orion Health.
Software Engineer
First, there was a 20 min phone screening where they did some general background checks and asked me to introduce myself. Then, a 1 hour technical interview with the team lead, engineering head, and a software developer. They asked about my past projects and the challenges I encountered, plus some basic knowledge in react and restful api.
- Could you explain what a react component is?
- Please introduce the architecture of the product you are currently building.
- What are some common http response codes?
Software Engineer
It began with a phone screen with HR where they asked general questions about my background and the coding languages I use. The next round was an interview with a software engineer from the company. They asked questions about my resume and background. Even though the role was for a C++ focused position, they mostly asked me front-end questions and about things not even listed in the job posting's qualifications.
- Can you describe your general JavaScript and front-end knowledge?
- What's your approach to designing a database schema for a service like Netflix?
- How would you go about designing a cloud product similar to Apple Cloud?
Software Engineer
It was a 2-round interview process. The first round was more general, focusing a lot on my resume. They asked about my current role and future aspirations. They also gave a good overview of the company and their work culture, and discussed how the role's requirements aligned with my background. The second round was purely technical, with many questions about Java and server-side technologies.
- Behavioral questions were asked in the first round.
- Technical questions were asked in the second round.
