Sales Guide
The interview process started with an online assessment where I had to record video answers to on-screen questions. If successful, I was invited for an in-person interview. Origins felt a bit disorganized in how they handled communication. The interview itself was typical for sales roles, covering standard questions. The next step involved a trial shift. During this, I was tasked with approaching strangers, offering free hand massages, and encouraging them to visit the Origins counter to buy products. The team members were friendly, but they mentioned they'd let me know the outcome the following week, which they didn't. I found their disorganization and unprofessionalism quite disappointing, as they only responded a whole month later. This delay was particularly frustrating because I had turned down another job offer while waiting for their decision. My advice is to keep your options open when applying and don't count on this role if you need immediate employment.

- Can you share an instance of providing outstanding customer service?
- What made that customer service experience excellent?
Counter Manager
I am still in the interviewing process but I just had my first phone interview. This is the Talent Plus part of the interview. It takes 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete. My lunch break is only 1 hour so I am waiting for someone to call me back to complete the last 10 questions. Basically all of the questions ask you whether or not you believe something and then to tell them about a time you did that something. I hope this helps someone else who is going through the Talent Plus section of the company.
- Tell me about a time I demonstrated leadership.
- Tell me about a time I got others to get excited about a mundane task.
- Tell me about a time I would discuss with a subordinate their drinking habits while they are not at work.
Key Holder
I applied to Origins in the store when I saw they were hiring, and they called me about a week later to set up an interview. After a brief initial interview about my previous work experience, they told me I would have a phone interview next. The phone interview was quite challenging. All the questions followed the same format: 'How would you rate your positivity, loyalty, etc., on a scale of 1 to 10?' followed by 'Can you recall a time when you demonstrated positivity, loyalty, etc.?' After the phone interview, I didn't hear back for another week, and then I was scheduled for a third interview with a manager.
- Can you tell me about a time you showed loyalty?
Keyholder
I went into a store that was clean and new. There were only two shoppers and the assistant manager, who greeted me nicely. As we went to the back, we chatted casually to break the ice. Then, the store manager took over and we talked for a bit. I felt a little weird at first because the store manager was hard to read; her body language and facial expressions were really blank. It was like she was staring right through me, but it turned out she's actually a great person to work for.
