First, you send off your CV and cover letter. Then there's a telephone interview with HR and maybe a junior consultant where they ask general HR type questions like why consulting, what skills you have that make you suitable for Concentra, and to give an example of when you had to think on your feet. After that, it's an assessment centre with about 10 people. There are two interviews, one with consultants (technological and client side) and another with HR/project management. There's also an aptitude test: numerical (mental maths + logic) and logical reasoning (spotting patterns in shapes/numbers/words etc.). Finally, there's a group exercise with a presentation where you'll be individually observed (to spot your negotiation/body language).

Technical Case Presentation

Started with reasoning and numerical tests, similar to other companies. The assessment centre began with a general meeting and an intro to Concentra and the role. Interviews were staggered, so there was a long wait. The personal interview focused on competencies, like using data for decisions. Then, there was a scenario with visual info where I had to decipher data and present recommendations. The final part tested making assumptions with limited info, like estimating a number with no prior data, focusing on my process and logical reasoning.

  • How would you interpret this visual data and what recommendations would you present to the client?
  • Given minimal information, how do you approach making assumptions to arrive at an answer, and can you explain your logical process?

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

First, there was a phone chat with HR and a senior consultant, asking about your strengths and motivations like 'Why Concentra?' and 'Why this role?'. Then, an Assessment Day at the London Office involved HR interviews digging deeper into strengths, technical interviews with problem-solving and more strength questions, a group mini-project which was a situational test, and numerical, abstract, and verbal reasoning tests (definitely practice these online, they're quite tough!). After that, Presentation Day was where you presented a topic of your choice to eight senior management members, followed by some casual chats with them. Finally, they made an offer.
