Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Orange County Government, Florida.
Administrative Specialist
Applied online. Had an easy scenario interview where I just had to answer the questions properly. The people were very friendly and made me feel comfortable. It was a 3 panel interview, and each person asked about 2 questions.
- Could you share an instance where you encountered an issue with a colleague?
Administrative Specialist
The hiring process for this role is lengthy; there's a significant gap between interviews and the final hiring decision. It includes a drug test and a polygraph exam. To prepare for these, try to stay as calm as possible on the day you take them, as they can be quite nerve-wracking.
- They present you with hypothetical situations and ask for your response.
- Describe your experience working in a team setting.
- Describe your experience working independently.
Environmental Specialist
Hey there, I wanted to share my experience with the interview process. After the job posting closed, they reached out pretty quickly to set up an interview, which was nice and professional. We scheduled it all via email. The interview itself was actually easier than I expected for the kind of work involved. It was a mix of technical questions and situational ones, so they really wanted to see how I'd handle different scenarios, so try to talk as much as you can. It took about 4 weeks to hear back about the job offer. Just a heads-up, orientation only happens twice a month. If you get an offer, try to get the earliest orientation date possible, otherwise, you might have to wait another two weeks to start.
