First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Opus Agency.
Support Manager
I went through three rounds of interviews with Opus Agency. The first two conversations felt engaging and conversational, and I appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the team and the role. The final interview, however, was significantly more intense and heavily focused on situational and behavioral questions. It felt less conversational and more rapid-fire, which made it challenging at times. While I understand the importance of assessing real-world problem solving, the shift in tone between rounds was noticeable. Overall, the process was organized and clearly competitive. I would recommend candidates prepare thoroughly for detailed situational questions in the later stages.
- What draws you to Opus?
- Could you give me an overview of your career history based on your resume?
- Describe a time you had to manage a frustrated client.
Project Manager
I went through a few interviews for the Project Manager role. There was an assessment where I had to build out a work-back schedule. Everyone I spoke with was really friendly and welcoming. The interviews focused mainly on my project management abilities, my capacity for multitasking, and my ability to stay professional.
- How do you ensure you stay on track when juggling several projects simultaneously?
Event Coordinator
It was a really smooth and efficient process, with great communication. The conversation was pretty chill. They were interested in my past experiences and my background in venue sourcing. The questions were mostly what I expected, and pretty straightforward if you have enough experience. I liked that the hiring manager seemed laid-back and didn't just stick to a generic list of questions.
- Can you share details about your previous work experience?
- Have you sourced venues before?
- What's your experience with booking and sourcing venues?
Event Registration
I applied via Indeed and got an email from Opus's Seattle recruiter within a week. We scheduled a 20-minute call that ended up being 35 minutes because he was more interested in my background. The role he had available was different from the one I applied for, but I was still interested. He mentioned my lack of direct experience wasn't an issue, as my other work experience was sufficient. He then quickly set up an in-person interview at their Seattle office with the hiring manager. So far, the recruiter experience was great. However, the hiring manager hadn't seen my resume until I gave her a copy and seemed disappointed that I lacked the direct experience she needed. I guess that should have been obvious earlier. She seemed eager to end the meeting politely. It felt like a waste of time for both of us. I followed up with the recruiter about getting her contact info for a thank-you note but never heard back. The Opus office itself had a good vibe, lots of young staff, an open layout, and a nice location by the water downtown.
- What drives your passion and happiness in a work setting?
- Can you share an instance where you received feedback and how you responded to it?
