Contract Manager
After applying, I got an interview invite about a month later. It started with a chat with two HR people and the hiring manager. It felt pretty cold and like a 'hot seat' with rapid-fire questions, not a real conversation. They didn't seem friendly, energetic, collaborative, or engaging like they said they were. Also, they were really vague about important stuff like the work schedule (said 3+ days in the office, maybe more?) and salary details, even when I asked. They said it could take another couple of weeks to hear back, and there might be more HR chats or interviews. It seems like they don't have a solid process figured out.
- How would you handle a challenging customer?
- What is your understanding of Options?
- Can you share your background, your motivation for applying, and details about your prior position?
Software Developer
The interview was a mix of discussing my background and technical challenges. I was surprised by the technical questions because they had only mentioned it would cover the role and my background, not technical aspects. The interviewers were nice and easy to chat with.
- How do you handle disagreements with colleagues?
Placement Student
Applied in November and got a 20-min Teams interview in Jan with two friendly panellists, despite some tech delays. Covered my knowledge of Options, why I applied, my technical and soft skills, salary hopes, travel availability, and when I could start. Ended with a Q&A. Found out I wasn't selected less than a week later, no feedback given which was a bit of a bummer as I wanted to know how to improve.
- Tell me what you know about Options.
- What's your reason for choosing Options?
- What activities do you engage in during your free time?
Graduate Position
I waited for about 40 minutes past my scheduled time to be taken in for the interview, which was the first one of the day. I was left sitting in the waiting room without anyone letting me know they were running behind, which felt pretty unprofessional. The interview itself was with HR and they mentioned they wanted to 'get to know me'. So, it was basically standard HR questions, delivered in a very robotic way, almost like they weren't interested either. The interview was easy enough and lasted about 15 minutes.
- Tell me what you know about our company.
- In your opinion, where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
- What technologies do you find yourself enjoying the most?
