First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Opportunities for Learning.
Quality Assurance Clerk
They called me and said they would schedule an interview within two weeks. The interview was with a group of leads and coordinators. I heard back about getting the job within a week. I could start right after the background check cleared.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- Could you provide some examples of your teamwork experience?
Executive Assistant
I interviewed for an Executive Assistant position with EMS back in 2015. The process started with a phone chat with HR, then I had an in-person meeting with the other EAs. The last step was meeting separately with the company owner and the COO. I really liked talking with the owner, but I didn't click with the COO. That happens. What really bothered me was EMS' HR. I called and emailed them a few times for feedback but got zero response. It seemed really unprofessional and honestly, made me feel like I dodged a bullet by not getting an offer. A quick note saying they went with someone else would have been fine.
- What apps do you have on your personal cell phone?
Special Education Specialist
I spoke with the Principal, Assistant Principal, and the Lead Special Education Specialist. We talked about my past teaching experience, how I handle writing IEPs, and the whole IEP meeting process. They also asked about my teamwork skills and my approach to working with students. The interview felt really comfortable and went smoothly.
- Can you share an instance of a challenging IEP meeting you encountered and how you navigated it?
- In what ways do you function as a team member?
- What inspired you to pursue a career in teaching?
Teacher
The interview focused on my teaching skills and how I manage a classroom. I talked about my lesson delivery style and my methods for checking student understanding. The interviewer was interested in hearing more about my teaching experience. Overall, it felt like a solid and sufficient interview process.
- What's your approach to handling a challenging student?
