Behavioral

The HR and interview process was very quick. They contacted me and I was asked to come to their office the very next day. I interviewed with someone who was also a management trainee and a department head. Initially, they asked about my Chinese background and language abilities, and I explained that my Chinese skills aren't work-ready yet. Although I applied for e-commerce, they offered me the chance to explore other roles, and I found myself more drawn to account management, even without prior experience in that area. Just the next business day, I was called back to the office for an interview with their VP. The offered salary was much higher than what I had asked for.

The interview process involved a physical interview despite COVID and SMOG, with no online option offered by the company. The manager from China, who presented as CFO but seemed to be a junior manager with no finance knowledge, was rude and unaccommodating. The HR process was considered one of the worst, with an entry test designed for freshers even for candidates with over 6 years of experience, which was seen as a cheap management tactic. The offered salary was very low, with a 6-day work week and no provision for offering tea or food to candidates, even those from out of town. The management's approach was criticized, especially when an 8-hour home assessment with proper regulatory references was completed, but not reviewed, leading to a rejection email. All communication was one-way. The position has been vacant for 8 months and is located far away. Candidates are advised to avoid this company at all costs.
