Communication Manager
The interview process was a bit confusing. The job opening they advertised had very different activities listed than what was described during the interview. It was a process of 4 interviews, where it seemed like I did well in 3, and in the last part, I didn't receive any negative or positive feedback.
- The activities presented were related to marketing and communication. When conducting the last interview for the communication vacancy, they mentioned that the activities would be more related to programming, and finally, they asked me what my objectives were for changing activities. It seemed like they didn't have a good description of the activities for that vacancy.
Manager
So, there were 3 interview types: behavioral, a business case, and then a senior level manager interview. The behavioral one was pretty standard, checking out the company culture, what the team deals with day-to-day, and what I'd bring to the table. The business case involved some basic finance, marketing, and business results stuff. The last one, with the senior manager, was more about understanding the company's big-picture goals and how I could fit in and contribute.
- Could you share an example of a challenging situation you faced at work, detailing your approach and the resolution?
- Describe how you tackled a difficult situation and what steps you took to resolve it.
- Tell me about a time you had to handle a tough situation and how you ended up solving it.
Manager
The recruiter seemed really keen to bring me on board, and I was quite enthusiastic about the role. I ended up speaking with roughly four individuals. The overall interview process was lengthy, but I felt it went quite well. The initial three interviewers were pleasant, and their questions were pretty direct. However, one of the managers did pose some unexpected challenges, which I believe I handled effectively. I had a follow-up interview not long after. The interviewer was amiable but appeared somewhat unprofessional and unprepared, lacking confidence and conviction in her responses. What really made me question their process was the complete lack of any follow-up communication, not even a rejection email. The recruiter also stopped responding to my emails. Despite these organizational issues, I would consider applying again because it felt like there were broader systemic problems at play during that time.
- Can you describe your experience with process improvement initiatives and how you've driven results?
- Tell me about a time you identified an area for process improvement and the outcome.
- How do you approach generating measurable results through process optimization?
