Validation Engineer
The interview process is pretty standard. It starts with a couple of phone calls, then there's a technical round in person. After that, you'll have an HR round. The technical interview focuses mainly on your resume, and they'll ask for details about your CV. It wasn't too tough. They'll ask you to introduce yourself, talk about your projects, and then they'll ask if you're familiar with the software development lifecycle and its components. They'll also inquire about testing tools and methods.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Could you elaborate on the projects you've worked on?
- Are you familiar with the software development lifecycle and its components?
Validation Engineer
It was a really negative and unpleasant interview experience. The HR person was very rude and unprofessional. She asked questions in an unpleasant way and then, midway through, told me I wasn't a good fit because they needed someone with a core mechanical engineering background, even though my resume clearly showed I'm a chemical engineer without mechanical testing experience. She didn't even seem interested in my interest in the company. It seems like I dodged a bullet. I wonder about the management if this is how the HR is. This was for their Belgium division. It's a big company, so other divisions might be good, but they should check qualifications before interviewing.
- Can you tell me about your background in response to standard first interview questions?
Validation Engineer
I was contacted by a recruiting firm and had to send my CV and cover letter. Then, I was contacted again for an interview on-site. The first interview was with n+1, n+2, and HR. The second interview was with n+3. The first interview went very well, the panel was friendly and even joked around. It was a really pleasant exchange, and I was quickly put at ease.
- Please present your last experience in English and then in German.
