It was a moderate interview process. Started with an introductory call to get to know each other and to assess your understanding of Opentable's revenue model, which is really important to know. Then, there were 2 technical rounds focusing on SQL and Google Sheets. Finally, 2 rounds with the Senior Leaders where they asked several behavioural questions to gauge your interest in the role.

Behavioral Technical Case

I talked to a recruiter first, which was standard. Then I had an interview with the hiring manager, but they seemed really uninterested, which was a bit of a red flag. After that, there was an Excel assessment where I had to make a pivot table, and the interviewer for that was much nicer. The SQL assessment, however, was rough. The person overseeing it wasn't warm at all, and the task felt ridiculous. So, I interacted with 4 people in total. Two of them made me feel like I didn't want the job. Even though I went through 4 stages, I got no feedback, which is crazy. I'm glad I didn't get an offer.

Behavioral Technical Coding

The interview process was extremely frustrating. Interviewers solicited hypothetical business recommendations to exploit ideas and take credit. The convoluted, incomprehensible SQL assessment compounded by the absurd 15-minute timeframe hindered genuine evaluation. This experience was far from positive, reflecting a lack of fairness and respect.
