OpenSesame Marketing Interview Questions
& Process

I was initially contacted by someone on the team who had to reschedule our first call a few times before we finally connected. They seemed really distracted during that call and cut it short to handle a personal matter, which wasn't a great start. Then, they asked me to complete a project and set up a second call to review it. I also had to take a WonScore test, which honestly felt pretty demeaning. During the second call, the interviewer was again super distracted, clearly looking at messages or emails while we discussed the project. They told me to spend no more than a couple of hours on it, but their questions implied they expected much more time investment. It felt like they either didn't grasp the scope of the task or didn't respect reasonable time commitments for take-home assignments. At the end of the call, they said I'd hear back in a week and to follow up if I didn't. Even though I get they were looking at other people, a full week to decide seemed excessive. I followed up after six days, but they never responded. Meanwhile, I got offers from other companies that actually valued my time. When I finally messaged again to let them know I was accepting another offer and withdrawing from their process, thanking them for their time, I still didn't get a reply. It was a pretty terrible experience overall.

I had a 30-minute phone chat with the Marketing Manager. The questions were pretty standard for an initial interview. They explained what OpenSesame does, and then asked about my past work history.

I sent in my application online and got a response within a week to set up a phone interview. The interview was about 30 minutes long. They started by telling me about the company and the job. Then we quickly went over my resume, and they asked me more detailed questions about jobs I'd had before. Lastly, I got to ask my own questions.
