So first there was this basic programming test. If you did really well on that, then you wouldn't have any more technical rounds. Just a few general HR rounds afterwards.

Got referred by someone working there. After the referral, I got a call to do a test, which I took using any programming language, but my experience in C/C++ and SQL was definitely a plus. Then I got another call and went through 3 more interviews, and we started negotiating. There was one last interview before the offer was finalized. This last interview was super technical. You gotta know your C#, .NET framework, and JQuery well. They initially offered less than I expected, but after I mentioned I was open to meeting in the middle, they increased their offer significantly. My advice is to be assertive about your salary expectations, especially for a demanding job that requires 100% travel; it shouldn't pay less than 80k.

  • Regarding OpenLinkor arrays, what types of objects can they hold?

They started by checking my work authorization for the US since OpenLink doesn't hire international students. Then I took a written test, which felt like a midterm for an intro C++ course. After that, I had an in-person interview with a junior manager. I got a call 3 weeks later with an offer, but I turned it down because it wasn't enough. They contacted me again a week later with a better offer.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • Can you explain why Java is a superior language compared to C++ or C#?
  • Could you define what a script engine is?
  • Describe the process of querying a SQL database from within the OpenLink software.
