First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Openet.
Graduate Engineer
The graduate recruitment process was divided into 3 stages: an online technical aptitude test, a day-long assessment center, and a panel interview. The online test was mainly out-of-date technical questions in Java and C/C++. Most questions could be found directly on StackOverflow. The assessment day included building a tour, an individual presentation, and a group case study. The final panel interview happened after clearing the first two stages and was mainly focused on the final year project.
- What is the difference between Java and C++?
Administrator
The online application was super easy. I got emails keeping me updated, and my interview was only 5 working days after applying. I got the job offer two days after that. The interview itself was really relaxed, I felt comfortable. They asked clear questions, nothing tricky. They even showed me where I'd be working, which was a nice touch. I had a quick phone chat before too. Got the offer 2 days later.
- Can you share some career challenges you've experienced?
- What are your time management strategies?
Software Developer
I first had a chat with a manager about my background and school stuff. Then, I was set up for an interview with some developers where they asked basic Java and OOP questions. About one to two weeks later, I went to the office and met with managers and developers. I got my offer there and they gave me a due date. I talked to a manager about the job and salary, and he said he'd see about making changes. Over the next week, he didn't reply to my emails. On the due date, someone else called, really mad that I hadn't accepted the offer. It was super unprofessional.
- Can you explain the scope of this Java function?
- What is object oriented programming and can you explain its behavior?
Project Manager
First, there was a phone screening. Then, I had a face-to-face interview. I thought the face-to-face interview was a really good way to assess a project manager. It was cool that I met with other project managers, as that doesn't happen at many places I've interviewed.
- How do you approach project methodology, with a focus on Agile?
