Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Open Advertising.
Marketing Assistant
My first interview was in a temporary office and felt like a basic screening. They didn't dive into my experience but instead talked a lot about a 20-40 week training program. After that, I was invited for a full day interview at their permanent office. This interview involved the interviewer extensively discussing the company, their main client, and their business model, while also asking me marketing-related questions. I then observed their sales team demonstrating their approach, which involved approaching people on the street to promote an app. The interview also included riddles and detailed questions about marketing terminology. The training program was also a significant topic of discussion. I learned the pay structure is 100% commission, with the potential for a good salary if their ambitious growth forecasts were met (which seemed unlikely). When I asked for time to consider an offer, they reacted negatively, stating it would harm my chances if I indicated it wasn't my top choice. Given the overall sketchy vibe, I decided to withdraw from the process.

Marketing/Sales
So I had this interview with the CEO, which was wild, right? It was super fast and I felt like I couldn't even speak before it was over, and I had to wait a bit too. Then, they invited me for a whole day thing where I went out in the field with someone who works there. It was pretty cool to see the job firsthand and I liked hanging out with that person. They offered me the job and I said I could start in a month. They said they'd hit me up before then but then... nothing. So I was kinda confused about what was going on. Also, the training guide they gave me had a bunch of mistakes in grammar and punctuation.

Marketing Assistant
It was a 3 stage process. I really enjoyed the open day because I could meet the team and learn all about the role. Some people said the team wasn't great, but they were actually really awesome!

- How many people have you managed in the past?
