A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn about a Software Engineer role with a base of 150k, plus bonus and stocks, and remote work. The first round was a 45-minute technical interview with two Leetcode questions (medium, easy-medium difficulty). The final round was a virtual onsite, which included one Leetcode round with two problems, one Leetcode + System Design round, and another System Design round. I received an offer from another company on the day of the final round and asked for a quick decision. They extended a verbal offer two to three days later. On Thursday, HR sent links for background check and referral requests, which I completed that night. On Friday morning, the recruiter confirmed the offer was final, pending CEO approval. The CEO was out that day, so I was told to wait until Monday. Saturday morning, the recruiter said everything was final, so I rejected the other offer. To my shock, on Monday morning, the recruiter rescinded the offer, citing no specific reason and refusing to let me speak with the hiring manager. They stopped responding to my emails, leaving me in a difficult situation as I had already declined another job and was facing potential layoffs at my current company due to decreased performance. This entire experience was extremely unprofessional and disappointing, especially given my H1b visa status and the challenges of job loss without warning.

My interview process involved a first round technical discussion with the engineering manager. The second round consisted of ruby coding challenges with two engineers. Next, I had a third round technical discussion with a QA engineer and a Product manager. The fourth and final round had two coding challenges from leetcode. In the end, they said I wasn't an exact match for what they were looking for.
