First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Onity Group.
Internal Auditor
The interview began with a phone call from an HR recruiter who asked basic questions about my background and why I was looking to switch jobs. Then, I had an in-person technical interview with an internal audit Manager focused on my past experience with audit planning and reporting. Following that, a phone call with the Director of internal audit from the main office in the US, where they explained the company's offshore audit approach and asked for my thoughts on planning audit fieldwork in that setup. Finally, I had two calls with the recruiter to discuss salary before the offer was extended.
- Could you explain how to structure the annual risk assessment and audit roadmap?
- What are the difficulties encountered when conducting audit fieldwork from an offshore location?
Internal Auditor
It was a 4-5 round process. Started with a grammar test of 50 easy questions. Then there was a wondering test, a psychometric test (which was easy), a Verasant Test, essay writing, and audit report writing. It all took place in two different venues, which was quite inconvenient. Nobody expects this for such a role. The final interview with the hiring manager was very direct, but I had to give a weak reason for not being selected, as it seemed like they might have already decided. It was a waste of a whole day.
- Can you describe your understanding of the PeP process and associated risks, as well as your profile and achievements?
Internal Auditor
The interview process started with a thirty-minute English grammar aptitude test. After that, there was an interview session with HR, and then hopefully an interview session with the reporting authorities. It's unclear what English grammar has to do with auditing, especially since it's not an interview for a voice call process. I read Glassdoor reviews about the company's HR department before the interview and they turned out to be true. They really need to improve their interpersonal skills and how they treat interview candidates. After collecting our aptitude test papers, they informed all candidates that they would call back for further rounds, which would be scheduled on a weekday. This really frustrated many candidates because you can't test someone's knowledge in their field based solely on an English grammar test without asking a single question related to the field. They took our aptitude test papers and told us they'd call us back for further rounds on a weekday, which was frustrating. It’s hard to understand why an English grammar test is part of an internal auditor role and it seemed like they were not going to assess my skills properly. After the aptitude test, the HR round was not good either, I felt they were not trained to conduct interviews. They collect the aptitude test papers and inform the candidates that they would get a call back for the next round which would be scheduled on some weekday. This is very frustrating.
