The interview process involved three rounds. The first was with a VP to gauge my fit and determine which of two open positions I'd be best suited for, followed by a written task asking why I wanted the role. The second round was a panel interview with the VP and two managers, where they delved into specifics of complex processes I'd handled, looking for someone who could meticulously gather information from various sources. The third interview was a technical one with a Compliance Director and a DBA. The Compliance Director seemed interested in me for his department, but I wasn't considering it. The DBA and Director asked me to sketch a database schema on paper, explain how to link tables using keys, and write some SQL queries by hand, which was straightforward given my 10 years of SQL experience.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • They asked me to solve a logic problem and think out loud to see if I had logical analysis skills: how few measurements are needed to weigh 8 balls against one another, one being imperceptibly heavier but only a scale could tell.
  • During the panel interview with the VP and two other managers, I was asked very specific questions about examples of complex processes I've gone through previously to walk them through.

This was a really strange interview process. I was unemployed and pretty desperate. A recruiter had reached out before but I wasn't interested then. I contacted her again when I saw openings, and she was surprisingly casual about setting up an interview for the very next day. The people who interviewed me seemed unprepared and awkward, and I couldn't tell if I did well or not. But, the recruiter called me back two days later with an offer. She kept emphasizing the low salary and seemed worried I'd reject it, which honestly should have been a warning sign. To make matters worse, they sent me an offer letter for a different job than the one I interviewed for! Honestly, avoid this company, the pay and work culture are awful.
