We kicked things off with a quick call from the recruiter, then I chatted casually with the hiring manager. After that, it was a string of one-on-one chats with folks from Product Management, Product Marketing, Engineering, and a senior leader. These chats felt pretty relaxed, and we both got to ask questions, so I could learn about Onfido and they could get to know me. To wrap things up, I had another call with the hiring manager to go over any lingering questions or thoughts before they extended a formal offer. The people I met were great – really skilled, smart, and enthusiastic, and I'm excited about the possibility of joining them!

Behavioral Other

The interview process began with a phone interview that was rescheduled. On the second attempt, the recruiter contacted me over 15 minutes past the scheduled time. The questions were general, seeming more focused on cultural fit than assessing my skills. Next, I was given a substantial task: developing a go-to-market strategy for a product, which involved outlining all necessary user stories and features, prioritizing them, and then detailing key user stories. I confirmed my understanding of the task with the HR manager. After investing over 4 hours and submitting the task before the deadline, I heard nothing for more than a week. I then received a standard email from HR stating I hadn't progressed. They mentioned one point from my submission that was factually incorrect. When I asked for more details and pointed out that their comment didn't align with the task instructions, I received a passive-aggressive thank you for my feedback. This entire experience revealed that it's not a company I'd want to work for.

I went through a few rounds, starting with a take-home assignment, then two phone interviews. After that, there were three onsite interviews. The recruiter was really nice and helpful. Each part of the process seemed to have a clear goal and was run smoothly. The questions gave me a decent idea of how they approach product development. I only talked to HR and PMs, no engineers or designers, and the final interview was with the CTO and CPO.
