Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at OneTrust.
Solutions Engineer
First, I had an initial screening call with the recruiter. Then, there was one round of demo with 2 members of the SE Team, which was about an hour long. After that, another round of technical questions with 2 other members, also about an hour. This was followed by a call with the SE Director. Finally, there was a final call with the recruiter. Also, they are doing a background check.

Solutions Engineer
It was a very disorganized, misleading, dishonest, and unprofessional interview process. It felt like a waste of time and disrespectful to candidates. Things started off okay. After I got a written offer and accepted it, they never sent a contract. For two weeks, the recruiter and hiring manager kept lying and making false promises, saying it was all approved and the contract would be sent the next day. Then, the company went silent for another week. When I followed up again, they suddenly claimed there was a global hiring freeze, even though they're still posting many jobs and announcing new hires online. They said a business case would be submitted for approval. I haven't heard anything since then. Nobody bothered to update me, apologize, or officially withdraw the offer. I don't know if this is a one-time thing or a company-wide issue, but this is not how candidates should be treated. Be careful when dealing with this company, and don't turn down other offers until you have a signed contract.
- What draws you to our company?
- Describe your strategy for engaging the market and customers to promote our product.
- Could you share your background with GRC tools?
Solutions Engineer
It was a pretty straightforward process. Started with an HR screening call, then there were three more calls: one with the hiring manager, one with two team members, and one with the N+2. The HR confirmed they wanted me via email and started the paperwork process, asking me to resign. After I sent over my details, they went silent. I found out they wouldn't proceed because I'm not French, even though I have a work permit and sent proof. The HR eventually responded after weeks of ghosting, admitting they wouldn't handle the paperwork, and unbelievably, claimed no offer was made despite having my salary details and asking for personal info for an official offer. This definitely felt illegal in France, but I guess I dodged a bullet.
- Can you share an example of a technical challenge you faced and how you overcame it?
