Senior Data Engineer
Started with a 30-minute recruiter screen and then a 45-minute chat with the hiring manager, both focusing on behavioral questions. Next, a 1.5-hour tech screen involved ingesting datasets and performing light analytics, which was a good experience without LeetCode-style coding. Wrapped up with a panel interview covering behavioral questions and a high-level system design discussion. The recruiting team was responsive and the process was well-organized, though it took about two weeks to get the rejection after the final interview.
- How would you describe your management style when leading a team?
Clinical Trial Lead
The interview process involved several rounds. First, a phone interview with a recruiter. Then, an interview with team members. The third round was a case study where I'd get material a few days prior to prepare a slide deck to present to a panel of 4 people. Finally, an interview with the VP. The role has potential for direct reports but the pay ($100-110k base) doesn't seem to match the responsibility. Also, the job title is misleading as it's essentially a customer service role.
- Do you know pivot tables or v-lookup?
- Have you ever supervised anyone?
- What makes you interested in this position?
Customer Success Operations Associate
The interview process started with a phone call with a recruiter, covering standard questions on my work history and knowledge. It was pretty good. Then I had a second interview with a team lead, also asking about my work history and knowledge, and touching on team dynamics. That was also pleasant. The third round involved an Excel test. I was told I'd have 30 minutes to prep, but only got 15 and the test details were sent at the start of the call, so I had to review and start immediately. The interviewer was unpleasant and seemed to make harsh judgments right away. It felt like my performance on this test was the deciding factor for getting the job. This test isn't ADA compliant and shouldn't be used, especially for a healthcare company.
- Can you discuss your previous work experience?
- What areas of knowledge do you possess?
Team Lead
The recruiting team was helpful. My initial interview got rescheduled because the recruiter was sick, which was fine. I advanced to an interview with another Sr Team Lead, which went well. Next, I had interviews with two directors. One director had to reschedule, and then didn't even show up for a 45-minute interview. The recruiting team apologized, but that director never said anything, not even during the next in-person panel presentation interview where they were present. It felt unprofessional and made me think they don't respect others' time. The presentation topic was pretty general, not very specific, which made it hard to know if I delivered exactly what they wanted. I didn't make it to the next round. The recruiting team offered to get feedback for me, but I never received it. They did say they'd keep me in mind for future roles.
