Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at OneMain Financial.
Customer Service Representative
It started with a recruiter call, then a call with the team, and a final call with the hiring manager. Super organized. Everyone was nice and professional. Business casual place. Zoom worked well. As a candidate, the interview process normally starts with a recruiter screening call, then some interviews with managers and team members. These might have technical tests, behavioral questions, and situational problems. Each part is a chance to show your skills, experience, and if you fit the culture. It often finishes with a last round, maybe a panel or executive interview, then they give feedback and decide on an offer. Keeping in touch, being ready, and following up are important throughout.
- Can you describe your experience in customer service?
Customer Service Representative
Applied online, first spoke with a recruiter for a phone screen, then the branch manager reached out to set up an interview. I met with the branch manager, and then got called for a second follow-up interview with the district manager. Finally, the original recruiter I spoke with made me an offer. It was a bit of a long process.
- Tell me about a time you had to handle a difficult customer.
Customer Service Representative
The interview was quite long, over 1 hour and 45 minutes. It was a bit misleading about the actual pay and benefits. Overall, the interview was pleasant but not very informative.
- Can you tell me about your past employers and what they paid?
