Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at OneMain Financial.
Account Executive
It started with a call from a recruiter at HQ. It was a behavioral interview. They asked me to share experiences.
- Can you describe a situation where you dealt with a challenging customer?
- Could you share an example of when you collaborated within a team?
- If you can't recall a situation, just tell me and I will mark that.
Account Executive
I sent in my resume and got a call from the district manager less than a week later. It was a 15-minute call where they gave me an overview of the company and asked a few questions. They asked if I was interested in the position. Then I had a 1on1 interview with the district manager and the branch manager shortly after, which lasted about 20 minutes.
- If you had to choose one item, how would you sell it?
Account Executive
i am still in the process trying to learn more about the job/company. to this point the interview process has consisted of a face to face with the branch manager and a second face to face with the district manager. The interviews themselves have been pretty laid back and a good overall experience. They basically have a set of questions to choose from to ask you about different experiences in your work history. "how did you handle an angry customer, what do you like about sales, etc..."
- Can you share a specific instance where you dealt with a disgruntled customer?
- Describe a situation from your past work where you managed a conflict with a colleague.
