I had a recruiter call first, then three interviews scheduled: a technical interview, a culture fit interview, and a final interview. I did the technical interview and a call with a director for culture fit. The next day, I was supposed to have a call with a senior engineering manager. He started 10 minutes late and then had to drop because of an emergency ping. After that, the recruiter called to say I didn't pass the first technical interview, so there was no need to reschedule. It left a bad taste knowing I was about to have a pointless interview.

They sent me some questions that I could answer from my CV, which they apparently hadn't read. I answered them right away. A week later, they got back to me asking for the answers I'd already sent. Then they invited me for an interview. The interviewer showed up 20 minutes late! They asked me about features of the latest C# update, which wasn't even relevant to the job. The product they work on is some old 'black box' system, with no documentation, and it's failed with two different teams. The interview itself seemed to go okay, they seemed pleased. After all that, they ghosted me.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • What purpose does the Dynamic type serve in C#?
  • Regarding the most recent C# update, explain the reason behind interfaces supporting default implementations.

We first had a phone-screening interview. Then you had to do a full technical test on your own time. After that, there was a full phone interview with the development manager and a senior developer, where we went over the technical test. Finally, there was a face-to-face interview.
