Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Once Upon A Child.
Sales Associate
After applying online, I went in for an interview and had to fill out a paper application, which was a throwback. I really enjoyed the face-to-face interview. The manager was super friendly and had a great personality. I got offered the position before I even made it home. A few days later, I went to orientation and got my start date.
- Can you tell me about your availability?
- How flexible are you?
Sales Associate
The interview process involved asking if I had used this company's products or services before for my personal needs and how my experience was, including whether I would recommend it. They also gave me a brief questionnaire that included math, grammar, vocabulary, and reading. Additionally, they wanted to know if I was familiar with the store and what I knew about it personally. They also asked if I had prior work experience at this store.
- Regarding your personal shopping needs, have you used this company's products or services before?
- Can you describe your experience with the company's products or services?
- Would you suggest this company's products or services to other people?
Sales Associate
After applying on Snag A Job, I got a call for an interview. I got there about 15 minutes early, like I usually do, but was told rudely by an associate that I'd just have to wait because I came early. The store was super disorganized and packed with stuff. When I was called back, it was a group interview in the back, which was also packed with clothes and barely any room to move. The manager was rude and I felt really awkward.
- What's your motivation for wanting to join our company?
- Could you describe how you manage disagreements that arise among colleagues?
- Which of your abilities do you think would be most valuable to our company?
