So I had this interview with omnicell starting April 2025. First round was like a manager screening, they called it fitment test, just checking my background and if I'd fit. Round 2 was a technical interview, had to go to their new office. They asked about C#, Middlewares, filters, parallel programming, and concurrency. It was also system design for microservices and best practices, using a laptop and paper. It went on for about 1 hr 45 mins. Round 3 was a managerial round, the manager talked about his products, conflict management, agile, their work style, timelines, and business alignment, then asked me about my past work, product design, and what I'm looking for. This round lasted an hour and a half. *Oh, and the TA didn't even ask if I wanted lunch, they scheduled both my rounds back-to-back from 11 AM to 3:30 PM without a break, which was tough. Rounds 4 and 5 were onsite. Round 4 was with the director of engineering, where he asked technical questions, asked me to review code, talked about design patterns, principles, best practices, and code craftsmanship, with both behavioral and technical questions. He didn't have my resume initially. Round 5 was with a tech lead, and the questions were totally off from the job description and my resume. It seemed they wanted me for a team where I'd have to reskill, which is okay if it's similar tech like Azure vs AWS, but this was completely new to me. They did offer me the job, but I wanted to ensure I'd work on my core skills, which didn't seem likely, so I didn't accept. I actually liked the interview process overall, but my advice is to check if you'll get to work on what you're looking for.

So after clearing the initial screening, I went for offline interviews. I did three technical rounds which I cleared. Then I had a managerial interview with someone from USA. After that, I received an email saying I cleared all rounds and I had to submit documents like salary slips, Aadhar card, PAN card. Once submitted, I had an HR round with the country head of India and China where we discussed my salary. A few days later, I was unexpectedly asked to interview for a different team, which I did and performed well, making it my fifth interview for the Engineer 2 role at Omnicell. Weeks later, I was asked for another technical interview online. After all these rounds, the HR person told me I was their "gold medalist" but the position was closed and they would hire me next quarter. But I never heard from them again. I later found out from another candidate they had a similar experience. It seems the company plays with candidates' time and emotions by having a long process with no clear outcome.

First, there's a phone call, which is basically an OA with some subjective questions and a couple of coding questions. You'll also get some debugging questions. Then, there are two technical interviews covering coding, SQL, and basic API knowledge.
