After five interviews it became clear the business is too tumultuous at this time to provide opportunities without risk of reorganization/layoffs and office politics. One interviewer volunteered to me that she’s been crying on her way home from work because of the lack of stability and overall disregard for employees. I picked up on these themes in the other interviews as well. With the abundance of red flags, I chose not to move forward and would recommend other candidates do their research and ask questions about team culture and climate before jumping in blindly.

It started with a recruiter call, then went into three rounds. The first round was with the hiring manager. He introduced himself, talked about his background at the company, and then asked about my background and interests. Naturally, he asked why I'm looking and why Omnicell. After that, it was a lot of 'tell me about a time' questions. It felt really comfortable and conversational, like he was looking for specific behaviors. He finished by explaining the team's function, dynamics, why they're hiring, and what he'd expect from me if I got the job. The second round was with a potential peer. It kicked off similarly to the first, and the vibe was the same. After the questions, I learned about some current organizational challenges and was asked how I'd approach them, specifically my 30/60/90 day plan. The third round also started like the others, and the conversation felt similar. I was told what's currently going well with the team, then we moved into challenges (some different ones were mentioned this time), and again, I was asked about my approach.

The interview process involved 3-4 interviews. After waiting 2 months, I found out other candidates were still in the running for a panel interview. The recruiter was slow to respond, making the whole experience not worth my time.
