First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Omnicare.
Account Manager
Started with a video interview with standard questions, then a phone call with the District Manager that was more in depth. After an offer, there's a drug/background screening. Recruiter then confirmed start date.
- Describe a situation where you had to manage a challenging relationship with a business partner and explain how you resolved it.
Pharmacy Technician
I went to an on-site career fair, which they sometimes advertise on the "Omnicare Careers" Facebook page. They usually want you to apply online first, but I wanted to check out the jobs. When they asked what I was interviewing for, I said I was interested in Compliance because it pays more and is a call center job, but since I wanted part-time, I said I'd consider anything. First, I chatted with a recruiter for about 15 minutes about my background, interest, and availability. Then I met a manager for 20-30 minutes who asked more detailed questions about my background and told me about the different pharmacy roles. She was really nice and shared her own background and why she liked working there. After that, I talked to someone from the call center who asked similar questions about why I wanted the job and my experience. She showed me the call center and said they'd decide in a few weeks. I emailed the manager a thank you, and she said they'd be in touch soon. After waiting 2-3 weeks without hearing back, I emailed again and found out they hadn't contacted me because I hadn't applied online. They also said they only had 'back end' picking technician roles available, which pay less, and didn't explain why the Compliance job was still posted. I applied online for the Picking Technician role and they offered it to me. If I hadn't followed up, I wouldn't have heard from them.
- What makes you want to work at this company?
Billing Specialist
First, I had a phone chat with a really nice recruiter. They asked me about what salary I was looking for and if I was good with the working hours mentioned in the job ad. After that, they scheduled me for a 1-on-1 interview at their office. When I got there, the receptionist greeted me and showed me to a nice room for the interview. The questions they asked felt quite tough. Following the interview, they took me on a tour of the place. They also mentioned that if I moved forward, there would be a second interview.
- How would you deal with a situation where someone behind you in a theater was repeatedly kicking your seat, given they weren't a child?
Inside Sales Associate
Got a screening phone call the day after applying. Then I spoke with a manager over the phone 5 days later. Three days after that, I had an in-person interview. This interview was with the person who gave me the screen call and the original manager. I also met with two other inside sales reps and two inside sales leads. They told me in 4 weeks that I didn't get the job, which was later than the two days after the interview they said they'd get back to me. They were all on vacation, I guess.
- What is your motivation for pursuing a career in sales?
