First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Omni Hotels.
Sales
I had a first chat with HR, who was really nice and made it a relaxed conversation. Then, two managers were set to interview me. HR scheduled it and told me who I'd meet. When I arrived, the first manager I saw was very nice and we had a chill interview, though they seemed a bit unprepared. The second manager I met with was in a hurry and we had to rush through our chat, and they also weren't ready for the meeting. Even with those hiccups, I think the interviews went well and I'm definitely qualified for the job.
- Asked some specific questions about things related to their department.
Sales
I went to the HR office and interviewed with three different people. I had an enjoyable time throughout the entire interview process. It was very relaxed. I met four different supervisors. I got a tour of the hotel and met the employees. It wasn't stressful at all if you are good at talking to people.
- Tell me about a time you dealt with an unhappy customer.
Sales
It seemed pretty straightforward until I arrived at the property. I ended up interviewing with people who didn't understand my role or how I could improve things. It was strange because I thought I had a connection on the phone, but it vanished when I got there. This hotel has apparently been looking for someone for almost a year. Do you see a potential problem? I left thinking I had a good chance, but was told there were two of us. Great odds. I guess that was for the week, so it could go on and on. The property also felt like a 3-star place trying to be a 4-star hotel with 2-star guests. Really confusing.
- Can you tell me about why you left your previous position?
