Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Omni Hotels.
Human Resources
The interviewers were professional and well organized. They made me feel welcome when I arrived and followed up with me after the interview was completed. Overall it was a good experience and I appreciated the follow up.
- Can you share an instance where you had to manage a challenging customer interaction?
Human Resources
After finishing a 6-month internship, I interviewed with the department manager, director, and general manager and was given a part-time HR position. I stayed in that role for 5 years until it was eliminated. Instead of being laid off, I was moved to the sales team. I had to interview again for that new role, and for my two subsequent promotions, with the department manager, department director, director of HR, and the general manager.
- Looking ahead five years, what is your vision for yourself?
- What are your aspirations within this company?
- Can you describe your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
Human Resources
My first chat with the HR team at the hotel was super thorough. I was going for one of the leadership training spots, like some others, and the first interview was a panel of 2 people. I talked to managers from Operations and HR, then got called back for a 1-on-1 with the HR Director which was pretty casual. After that, I had a call with the corporate director and the GM at the property, making it 5 interviews total! I always felt informed and never misled. All the managers were really professional!
- Can you share an instance where you had to bend the rules?
