I applied for the tech intern role. The HR person I first spoke with mentioned the company's strict dress code and pointed out my nose stud. After that, I had a chat with the IT head I'd be reporting to. They asked about my background and my availability to start. It seemed to go okay apart from the nose stud thing. I sent a thank you and follow-up email, but no one from the company (or the recruiter) got back to me. I got an automated email about three weeks later. Everyone was friendly, but it felt unprofessional not to get a response after I took time off work and traveled downtown for the interview.
