Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Omni Hotels.
Director
The interview process began with a phone call from a Director of Human Resources. If that went well, a Skype interview was scheduled to get to know you better. After passing that, you'd interview with the department head, who has the final decision. This company really likes to hire from within, and they ended up hiring someone who was already working there.
- What makes you want this job?
- Could you tell me your current officers' retention rate?
- What feedback would your current manager provide if I were to reach out to them?
Director
To start, we have a PI evaluation to check your key characteristics. Then, there are initial phone screenings. After that, you'll have in-person interviews with the property GM. Depending on the role, it could be a panel interview or one-on-one with the Exec. Committee. If you're interviewing for a senior position, you'll meet with Area or Regional Directors.
- What's your approach to motivating your team to achieve their objectives?
Assistant Director
Had a lot of interviews, both in person and over the phone, before getting the offer. It took about a month with the in-person part. The questions were fair, but the process could be more organized so candidates don't have to meet so many different people.
- Tell me about your work history.
