Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Olympus Corporation.
Intern
The interview process was very straightforward. I had one interview with HR and then with the manager. I also had some email conversations with others before the interview. It was incredibly straightforward and to the point.
- What are your motivations for wanting to join this company?
Intern
It was an online interview on Teams with my future manager and a teammate. They asked some basic background questions, some about my past experiences, and a language check for both English and the selected language. The questions were easy, like about hobbies, just to see if I could communicate.
- Could you describe a time you managed a tough situation?
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What relevant experience do you have?
Student Worker
It was a pretty standard but pleasant interview process. First, they introduced themselves and the department, then I introduced myself, followed by mutual questions and getting to know each other better. No tricky questions were asked, which might be because it was for a student worker position. My experience and studies didn't quite align with the role. They initially mentioned a quick feedback, possibly within the same week. After two weeks of no response, I tried to follow up but couldn't reach anyone. Ultimately, the rejection came a month later, though the holiday season (Christmas/New Year) fell within that period.
- No specific questions were asked. There was a lot of small talk in general.
