It was pretty standard. First, I had a phone chat with someone from a third-party screening company. About two weeks later, I interviewed with the manager for the role. The week after that, I met with the director and the HR manager for two separate interviews back-to-back. I got the offer the following week.

The initial phone interview went well and led to an in-person interview with five department staff members. What wasn't mentioned by the recruiter was that this interview would last over two hours. The interview was going well with typical questions about experience and future career goals. However, when it was the hiring manager's turn, she seemed to dislike my five-year plan and desire to grow within the company. The manager stated that as an admin assistant, I would be stuck in that position with no growth opportunities and was overqualified for the role. I was surprised by these comments, as I thought Olympus valued employee growth. As an Office Manager, I felt very qualified for this role, but it appeared the manager sought someone for long-term commitment due to a high turnover rate.
